Why brand entire Muslim community as terrorist?

Posted by admin On December - 10 - 2011ADD COMMENTS

Why brand entire Muslim community as terrorist? : Terrorism should be seen as an international menace. No religious identity should be attached to it as no religion on earth justifies terrorism that often ends up killing innocent people. Islam strongly forbids violence against the innocent. The unenlightened Muslims who say they are acting in defence of the religion may have either misinterpreted Islam or are practising it erroneously. And so, if one views at Islam on the basis of the activities of these misguided people, he or she will make a big mistake.

Muslim community Why brand entire Muslim community as terrorist?

Yet the fact is, since the 9/11 World Trade Center attack, the entire Muslim community has been living in despair by being misunderstood by most in the rest of the world. The attack by few criminals was condemned by global Muslim leadership that identified the attackers as the black sheep in the community. But unfortunately, the entire Muslim community is still being viewed as terrorist today.

Very few non-Muslims have bothered to consider the facts that tens of thousands of local Muslims in Afghanistan, Iraq and Pakistan have been involved in anti-terrorism operations, helping the Allied Forces and local governments. Could the US-led military action against Iraq ever succeed if it did not get key support of the Islamic country of Saudi Arabia?

In recent times, some ill-informed groups have been slapping a number of unrealistic charges against Muslims. They portray Muslims as bad ferocious individuals, citing specific incidents to their convenience as evidence, even though in almost all cases they are very far cry from the truth. They try to give a totally different impression of the Islam as revealed in the Qur’an, citing various wars that took place as the religion spread around the world. They overlook the fact that in those wars Muslims took to arms basically to defend themselves. Their charges against Muslims or Islam are routinely hollow and always go unsubstantiated. The people in question are unacquainted with Islam, and are badly informed of the true face of those who commit cruelty in the name of Islam. They are often unable to evaluate the state of affairs in question in a healthy and rational manner.

If someone truly wants to know what Islam is, he or she should read the Quran- the only authentic source to know the religion. The Quran is based on the concepts of morality, love, compassion, mercy, modesty, self-sacrifice, tolerance and peace. One, who truly follows the path of Islam- as advised in the Quran, is considered the best Muslim. Not all Muslims follow the Quran. So, not all Muslims are good Muslims or good human beings. However, today Islam is mostly being identified on the basis of what its morality-less followers are doing.

On reading the Quran one can understand how Allah instructs His followers to be nice to his neighbours around, and shun cruelty and violence. Allah says, He does not like his followers who resort to violence against innocent people. Those who do not obey this divine command are walking in the footsteps of Satan and moving away from Allah.

Even the political doctrine in Islam is extremely peaceful, moderate and accommodating. The concept that badly needs clarification in this context is that of “jihad”. The exact meaning of “Jihad” is “effort”. That is, “to carry out jihad” is “to show efforts, to struggle”. To be very precise, Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) explained that “the greatest jihad is the one a person carries out against his lower soul”. Here the “lower soul” is one’s selfish desire, unhealthy ambitions and immoral intentions. The use of the concept of “jihad” for acts of aggression against innocent people, is indeed “TERRORISM”, and is not only unjustified but amounts to a serious distortion of tenets of Islam. These misguided lots- “the terrorists”, ignore what their conscience says and listen to their earthly desire for violence by resorting to wickedness, which is indeed un-Islamic. They become loveless, aggressive people who do not hesitate to hurt others without the slightest pang of conscience. Having no fear of Allah or God, they do not abide by the morality of their religion, nor do they practice it. Nothing can stop them from committing crimes and hurting the innocents. Hence these misguided men should not be considered followers of any religion at all.

Compassion, peace and tolerance constitute the very basis of Islam, and the commands of the Quran leave no room for dispute and contradictions. The moral teaching offered to humanity by Islam is one that aims to bring peace, happiness and justice to the world. The barbarism that is happening in the world today under the name of “Islamic Terrorism” has no connection with the Quran. Such terrorism-related activities are the work of a section of ignorant, bigoted criminals who have nothing to do with religion and its tenets. A strong action should be taken against these individuals, groups and organizations who take to savagery under the guise of Islam.

Throughout the 13 years they lived in Mecca, our Prophet (PBUH) and his Companions were subjected to terrible duress, attacks and slanders; they were forced to leave their homes and threatened with death. But they never resorted to violence despite all this aggression and oppression they faced. When the oppression in Mecca increased, they migrated to Medina, and during the Medina period they only engaged in wars that were unavoidable and for defensive purposes. This further leaves every Muslim with a duty to represent, through his attitudes and behavior, the religion of Allah in all finest possible manners. Muslims must display kindness, humility, forgiveness, as our Prophet (PBUH) possessed. And they must be compassionate and affectionate as he was.

The people who make malicious claims, imagines that it is genuine Muslims who abide by the Qur’an that spread terror in the name of Islam. The fact is, however, that they (ill doers) have nothing to do with the Qur’an or Islam at all. By making these allegations against Muslims, the motivated sections in question ignore one very important point. As is known in history the USA caused the deaths of tens of thousands of people by dropping atom bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. But the Islamic world never sought to lay the blame for this action perpetrated by the U.S. government or Christians. In the same way, thousands of Muslims were barbarically slaughtered during the attacks which were openly called the Crusades, and even Christians belonging to other sects were tortured to death, many mosques were both pillaged and ransacked. The blood that has recently been shed in Iraq, Afghanistan and other Muslim countries was Muslim blood. But Muslims have never used this as grounds to charge that the people who live by the Gospel are killers. Any sane person can see that irreligion always reigns anywhere in which oppression is taking place. Indeed, rational Muslims who abide by the Qur’an and believe in Allah never hold Christians responsible for the massacres in question. That is not something that anyone who genuinely believes in Allah could do.

Unless one reads the Quran he or she cannot understand what Islam is all about. The Quran preaches that Muslims must not go to extreme in any war.

“Fight in the Way of Allah against those who fight you, but do not go beyond the limits. Allah does not love those who go beyond the limits.” (Surat al-Baqara, 190)

“But if they cease, Allah is Ever-Forgiving, Most Merciful.” (Surat al-Baqara, 192)

Rajnish Seth commissioner law and order told the reporters, “State CID will probe the death of Faiz Usmani.”

Faiz is Afzal Usmani’s brother who is believed to be the IM operative and is currently lodged in jail in connection with the Ahmedabad blasts.

Family members of Faiz alleged that he was tortured by the police and hence died. However, the police denied the allegation and said that he was suffering from hyper tension.

Talking to media his son Azim Usmani said, “My father was picked up by 7 to 8 civil dress personals on Saturday without informing any of us.”

Salim Siddiqui, Usmani’s neighbor said, “We were told by the police that Faiz is seriously sick and admitted in the Sion hospital but when we reached the hospital we found him dead.”

Usmani’s brain vein was reportedly busted and initial report suggests that he died due to brain hemorrhage. The reason of the death can be confirmed only after the post mortem report.

Local MLA and state chief of Samajwadi Party, Abu Asim Azmi, visited Govandi and talking to reporter he said, “The culprits of the blasts should be hanged but investigative agencies should not pressurize mentally and torture common man that s/he dies.

Mumbai blasts: Blind rush among probe agencies to nab “Muslims”

NIA Team at Opera House after the blast 300x225 Mumbai blasts: Blind rush among probe agencies to nab “Muslims”

NIA Team at Opera House after the blast

Some rogue Muslims or terror groups, real or shadowy that carry Muslim-sounding names, could be behind the July 13 Mumbai serial blasts. Some saffron terror groups or individuals could also be behind the inhuman and antinational act as their involvement has already been established in half a dozen terror blasts – some small as in Ajmer Dargah and some big and highly sophisticated as in Mecca Masjid and Samjhauta Express. Yet, there is a clear sign of blind rush among investigating agencies to nab some “Muslims” for the latest Mumbai blasts.

The Muslim community is considered the first and natural suspect of any terror blast – whether it happens before Malegaon, Mecca, Ajmer and Samjhauta or after. For our probe agencies and media Lal Krishna Advani’s infamous one-liner is still the only mantra – All Muslims are not terrorists but all terrorists are Muslims.

This is a fact that some Saffron groups and their workers have been found involved several terror blasts in last five years in the country, including blasts in Malegaon, Mecca Masjid, Ajmer Dargah and Samjhauta Express. But this fact has left little impact on the pattern of probe by our agencies and on the media coverage of such heinous acts. The least they could and must have learnt is to be neutral, objective and professional in their work. They didn’t.

Samjhauta blast was executed on the eve of Indo-Pak talks in 2007. The latest serial blasts have been executed around the time when again India and Pakistan were scheduled to revive bilateral dialogue that was blocked after the 26/11 Mumbai attack in November 2008.

For last four days since the blasts in the financial capital of India, security and probe agencies are groping in the dark. First the intelligence agencies failed to nab the culprits before the blast and then probe agencies failed to catch them after the blasts. But even in failures, they and those who want to put Muslims in bracket are successful.

Rather than following all leads the Mumbai blast is being probed on a set line. Probe agencies are interrogating several Muslims already in jail for months and years in connection with some earlier terror blasts like Ahmedabad and Delhi. Not only this, their friends and family members are being picked and arrested for interrogation. One Manzar Imam was picked two days ago from Ranchi. He is said to be friend of one Danish Reyaz who is already in jail in connection with Ahmedabad blast.

Faiz Usmani, a Mumbai resident, was picked for questioning last night for the Mumbai blast. He succumbed to interrogation and died this morning in Sion hospital. Family members of Faiz alleged that he died because he was tortured by the police. Faiz was brother of Afzal Usmani who is already in jail in connection with the Ahmedabad blasts.

Now the latest news is that a suspected Harkat-ul-Jihad-al-Islami (HuJI) operative Riyaul Sarkar has been detained in Kishanganj district of Bihar on Sunday in connection with the Mumbai serial blasts.

Involvement of missing Abdullah in Mumbai blasts surprises family

Kolkata: After the Mumbai serial blasts last Wednesday, one of the suspects Maharashtra ATS is looking for, is Abdullah, a resident of Mafidul Islam Lane at Beniapukur in central Kolkata. Maharashtra ATS chief Rakesh Maria talked to Kolkata Special Task Force chief Rajeev Kumar, asking for the details of Abdullah.

According to the Maharashtra police, Abdullah is allegedly close to Amir Raza, the main accused in American Centre attack case in 23rd January 2002. Raza is also a resident of Mafidul Islam Lane under Beniapukur Police Station.

Abdullah aka Khurram Khaiyam has been “missing” even before the attack on the American center in 2002. He used to stay with the family of his brother Khurram Shakil. But the alleged involvement of Abdullah has taken his family by surprise.

While talking to TwoCircles.net, Shahin, Shakil’s wife said that they didn’t hear any thing from Abdullah after he left home. Asking for evidence against Abdullah, she said, “How the police can condemn him without any evidence and if he was involved in the earlier attacks why the police didn’t arrest him?”

Shahin claimed that he had no relation with Amir Raza, the prime suspect in American Center attack case, except the fact even Raza used to stay in the same lane.

After the attack on the American center, police raided Abdullah’s room but couldn’t find any thing suspicious. Shahin claimed that Abdullah was a skilled shoe maker. Abdullah’s family is engaged in shoe business. They have two small shoe shops in Barabazar area, beside the Police head quarter.

ID cards for victims to pass metal detectors

With shrapnel lodged permanently in bodies of some blast injured, hospitals decide to issue ID cards to them explaining why they may set metal detectors off

As with every other calamity the city is congratulated for taking in its stride, the memory of the 13/7 chain blasts might be relegated to the back chambers of its collective memory.

But for those who carry the blast’s memorabilia, in the form of metal shrapnel lodged in their bodies, it will be a constant struggle.

After the IEDs packed with splinters exploded last Wednesday, a majority of the injured had the bits of metal pierce their bodies.

The more unfortunate among them, however, will have to bear the pricks all their life. And, other than physically lugging the dreary souvenirs, they will have to carry an additional reminder an ID card every time they pass security checks, what with the metal detectors going off at the tiniest trace of metal.

Said a senior doctor at JJ hospital, “After the patients are operated, we will have to evaluate those who will have to permanently live with metal shrapnel in their body, as it is risky to remove all the tiny pieces.

The body’s mechanism is such that foreign bodies like these are gradually covered with tissue, without causing any damage to the system. But the patients will have problems passing through security checks in the city, which is full of metal detectors. They will catch the metal bits in their body and ring the alarm.”

After the 26/11 terror attack, the state had asked JJ hospital to issue certificates to the 12 patients who had metal particles from bullets and shrapnel left in their body permanently.

For easy passage
“The nature of the injuries in this attack is such that extracting all such shrapnel is not possible. Thus, we will issue the patients ID cards signed by the dean of our hospital, Dr T P Lahane. It will mention the area where the metal piece is lodged. The patients can produce the card when needed.

Especially at airports, it’s a necessity for people with metal implants to produce such authentic certificate or ID cards as no one can be exempted from undergoing a security check,” said another senior doctor.

He added, “The 26/11 patients were only given certificates. But these victims will get ID cards mentioning all the details, to make it more convenient.”

At JJ hospital alone, some 25 patients with severe injuries have been admitted. Of these, only Anant Gandhi was discharged yesterday. Five patients are yet in the critical care unit, battling for life. The hospital’s doctors, in the last two days, have performed 16 surgeries, eight of them major.

Other private facilities have planned to issue similar certificates to blast victims who have suffered similar injuries. Dr Sagar Sakle from Bombay Hospital, said, “We handled victims of 26/11 attacks as well, and the nature of injuries inflicted in the recent blasts is different.

A majority of victims have shrapnel lodged in their bodies, unlike 26/11 casualties, who braved bullets. We will issue certificates to such victims which can be produced at security checks.”

Dr Sabeena Khan, Saifee Hospital, said, “For the 18 blast casualties admitted, we have been able to extract the shrapnel. There is no need for us to issue any certificates.”

ID for shrapnel
The ID cards the victims of the chain blasts will be issued will have the following details:
> Name
> Signature of patient
> Location of foreign body
> Signature of dean

A powerful blast, and then pools of blood, recount eyewitnesses

MUMBAI: There was a deafening blast and then people were lying injured on the road… that was the account by eyewitnesses at the sites of the three powerful explosions that rocked congested areas ofMumbai Wednesday evening.

The blasts took place in three areas of south Mumbai – near Kabutarkhana in Dadar (W), Zaveri Bazar and Opera House, the jewellery hubs of Mumbai.

Sadashiv Kamble, a shop owner from Dadar, said he heard a loud explosion and first thought it was a cylinder blast, but later realised it was much more serious and ran for life.

Another eyewitness from Dadar said when he first heard the blast he was trying to gauge the situation and then realised it was a bomb explosion.

“I heard a loud explosion. And then I saw people with serious injuries lying in pools of blood,” he said.

The three blasts left at least 13 people dead and over 100 injured.

At least six injured people were rushed to nearby hospitals from the blast site at Kabutarkhana in Dadar west in the evening peak hour when the locality was packed with people.

In Zaveri Bazar, the blast occurred in the famous Khau Gully, which is full of people having their favourite snacks before catching local trains to go home.

An eyewitness, Datatray Jadhav from Zaveri Bazar, said they first heard a loud explosion and rushed to find a girl grievously injured. “A girl and another man were seriously injured. We put them both in a police van and sent them to the hospital,” he said.

“Two others were also injured, however, not as serious. I helped them get into a taxi and reach a nearby medical centre,” he said.

At Opera House, near Charni Road rail station, the blast took place in a building where many diamond and gold jewellery firms are located.

If dedicated Hindu officers for temples, why not Muslim officers for Wakf?

New Delhi: The battle between Minorities Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid and a section of Muslim representatives, has become all the more heated. The bone of contention here is Indian Wakf Service which is one of the Sachar Committee’s recommendations for better management of Waqf properties which is estimated at Rs. 120 billion (US$ 26 billion).

ZFI chief Zafar Mahmood addressed the media on the issue of Waqf Service in New Delhi on Monday July 11 201121 If dedicated Hindu officers for temples, why not Muslim officers for Wakf?

ZFI chief Zafar Mahmood addressed the media on the issue of Waqf Service in New Delhi on Monday July 11, 2011

Muslim representatives like Zafar Mahmood, chief of an NGO, Zakat Foundation of India, are against Kursheed because as Mahmood says, Khursheed whose ministry drafted the Wakf Amendment Bill 2010, is behaving discriminatory when it comes to the idea of a separate cadre of Muslim officers and other prominent recommendations of the Joint Parliamentary Committee on Wakf which have subsequently been “ignored” by the Bill.

Khurshid has been criticizing the idea of a separate Muslim cadre on two counts. First of all this was rejected by the Cabinet even when he was not in the cabinet. Secondly, Khurshid considers a separate Muslim cadre under the government as some thing which will take the Muslim community towards ghettoization.

“If you have a cadre of Muslim officers under the government, what else is ghettoization?” Khursheed had said in an interview with TwoCircles.net.

But Zafar Mahmood, head of Zakat Foundation of India and NGO has hit back at the Minister citing Indian states like Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala and Andhra Pradesh where there is a separate cadre of senior Hindu administrative officers just to look after affairs of the temples and Hindu religious endowments.

“In the states of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala and Andhra Pradesh, separate selections of only Hindu officers are made through provincial Public Service Commissions for special cadres and posts of Additional Commissioners, Joint Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners and Assistant Commissioners to manage the affairs of the temples and Hindu religious endowments,” says Mahmood while talking to TCN.

On top of this strongly built special purpose exclusive bureaucratic hierarchy, there is an IAS officer sitting as Commissioner and his being a Hindu is also a pre-requisite, adds Mahmood who was also the administrator of Punjab and Haryana Wakf Boards.

waqf board corruption proof21 If dedicated Hindu officers for temples, why not Muslim officers for Wakf?

“How does Mr. Salman Khurshid reconcile this state of affairs with his refusal to institute Indian Waqf Service except by the fact that his act is out and out discriminatory in nature some thing prohibited by the Constitution?” asks Zafar who was also OSD to the Sachar Committee.

Explaining his argument further Mahmood says that a separate cadre of officers only for Waqf is important precisely because the Waqf CEO’s work is vast, diverse, complicated and demands expertise that comes from specified training & competence. At present Waqf boards across the country are being headed by veterinary doctor, survey inspector, BDO, junior employment officer, teacher, advocate, fresh graduate, etc.

“Compare this with the management of temples and Hindu religious endowments & institutions in the above mentioned states. The day to day work is done of exclusive full time senior Hindu IAS officer who is appointed as Secretary to the state government-cum-Commissioner for the management of temples and Hindu religious institutions. This is the highest rank in state bureaucracy as opposite to the heads of Waqf boards who are most oft,” says Zafar.

The Waqf Amendment Bill 2010 proposes that the CEO of the state Waqf board should be of the rank of under secretary to the state government that is the lowest rank in state bureaucracy.

Zafar says that for management of temples the state’s highest bureaucrat is exclusively working, “But for tens of thousands of Waqf properties even in 2011 the central government has reluctantly agreed for the state bureaucracy’s lowest level status. Besides, there is no mention in the Bill as to from where even a Muslim under-secretary level officer shall always be forthcoming for being posted as CEO.”

Detailed information regarding problematic aspects of Wakf Amendment Bill 2010 can be taken fromhttp://www.zakatindia.org/index.html

Besides, there is no mention in the Bill as to from where even a Muslim under-secretary level officer shall always be forthcoming for being posted as CEO.”

Saffron terror – It will be unwise to ban RSS

Since the day RSS and its sister groups were found involved in the Malegaon blast, media particularly Urdu media has published numerous editorials, articles, letters and statements supporting a ban on RSS. But, the Central Government has so far not given any positive indication. However, some Congress leaders including Rahul Gandhi, Digvijay Singh and P. Chidambaram have indeed talked about Hindu terrorism and saffron terror.

It will be unwise to consider banning RSS without taking into account the wide and deep infiltration of the Sangh Parivar into the four pillars of the Indian democracy – Legislature, Executive, Judiciary and Press. Their grip and position among the people of the country should also be taken into account.

The grip and status of Sangh Parivar could be gauged from the huge number of passouts from several thousands of Saraswati Shishu Mandir schools run by them. Their graduates must be in crores now. These schools teach wrong history of the country. For instance, Shivaji is presented as hero of the Hindus and Muslims as his enemy, which is simply wrong. The children are taught that Muslims have always been enemy of Hindus and they will remain so for ever. These children when steps in practical life they follow those teachings and if get higher positions, they strive to spread the very thoughts among colleagues. A huge number of people of such biased mentality have in the last 60 years taken control of the four pillars of the democracy. And this is evident from the happenings around.

Yet, it is also true that majority of Hindu populace is still secular and does not buy the ideology of Sangh Parivar. Had this not been the case, BJP would have always been in power without any support.

However, if RSS is banned in the present situation, BJP will try to garner sympathy of secular Hindu populace. On the other hand, the ban will hardly be implemented as the majority of officers in law enforcement agencies are of saffron mind.

If India has to get rid of saffron terror and RSS their fake patriotism must be hit at hardly and evidences of their treason and treachery must be presented before the nation. They will die their own death.

Feeling the heat of charges of terror, of late, Sangh Parivar has launched a door-to-door campaign in Uttar Pradesh whereby Sangh Pracharaks clarify that RSS has nothing to do with terrorism. It is a conspiracy by Congress to defame RSS. Reports say common Hindus are not ready to listen to them.

That’s why my view is: To finish RSS, finish its influence and status (which is based on fake patriotism). This is what Home Minister P Chidambaram has done in last few months with the support of Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and Digvijay Singh. Ban is not a solution. I hope if NIA continued its probe in terror cases and true picture of RSS came before the common Hindus, Sangh Parivar will be looking for space to hide their face.
