Contract HTML programmer (Pioneer Square)
Reply to: job-kqdxp-1347893633@craigslist.org

NOTICE: Most who have replied to this posting did not respond fully and their replies have been discarded. Only full responses will be considered.

Taphandles Inc. is looking for a project compensated HTML programmer to re-develop our web site and web store to reduce the flash content and make it more searchable. Our internal graphic design team will create the entire look and we need someone to convert the new look to HTML. We will supply all of the completed graphics. We’re looking for the coding work not graphic artistry.

The new web store will be linked to our ERP system. The linking work will be done by consultants from the software vendor InSite. The person who takes this project will produce the HTML that will feed the work being done by the consultants. Below are guidelines for how we need to write our HTML to comply with the ERP system as specified by the consultants.

GUIDELINES FOR HTML PRODUCTION
HTML PRODUCTION DELIVERABLE REQUIREMENTS
- The design should maximize the ability to apply content-management controls to the page. Ensure that the buttons and navigation elements are rendered in styles, not images.
- HTML and images build HTML keeping in mind that InSiteCommerce developers will throw it into dynamic controls.
- Original Photoshop files must be provided.
- All source files must be provided.
- JavaScript files must be provided.
- CSS files – User selectors moderately; try not to go more than two selectors deep. Minimal user of hierarchy is expected. Do not use CSS IDs. Build the CSS keeping in mind that InSiteCommerce developers will throw it into dynamic controls.
- If the site prototypes any interaction, the framework used to build that interaction (e.g. JavaScript) must be easily strippable. This is required regardless of the tool used to prototype the interaction.
- HTML must pass W3C validation.
- HTML must be tested successfully in IE8, IE7, IE6, Firefox and Safari.
- Images must have alt tags.
- Because we sometimes change the structure of the site it’s best to reference things from the site root. So instead of images/title.gif we would prefer /images/title.gif. The same with any links to css or js.
- The standard we have for naming folders is images, styles, and scripts. The structure should be:
/images – place all images except product images
/styles – place the CSS file
/scripts – place any javascript
/products/images – place any product images used

Please reply with your approximate price for your work. For apples to apples comparison use the Kona Brewing Store http://store.konabrewingco.com as a model. Assume that you¡¦re provided with the entire look and all of the images and that now you have to convert to HTML per the requirements above. Note the click to enlarge on certain items. Also note on the http://store.konabrewingco.com/t-shirts/kona-brew/longboard-lager-t-shirt that you can see alternative images. (not on all items)

Also:
Are you familiar with Insite?
Do the requirements make sense to you?
Link to samples of your work?
Can you guide my designer to deliver you the graphics how you need?

There is full time employment opportunity for a person who provides high quality work. We plan to roll out more stores of this style.

I will follow up with developers I find promising with further specifications.

Location: Pioneer Square
Compensation: Project based on bid
Telecommuting is ok.
